INMIGNEWES

DEFINITION

Good journalism avoids sensationalism to offer true information adjusted to the facts. However, in an almost unconscious way, sensationalism sneaks into news about immigration a series of phrases and approaches that are themselves a form of sensationalism. We call IMMIGRATIONALISM this sensationalism in the news regarding immigration.

IMMIGRATIONALISM

CAN WE COUNT ON YOU?

Journalists have a huge responsibility in shaping the social image of immigrants.

“Immigrationalism” is very present in Spanish media and it generates fear and hatred. If we come together to fight it, we will be helping create a more tolerant and democratic society.
